City Resource Building Setup for Running a 0 Food Income Food

Before you get too far on building you need to plan how many of certain types of buildings you plan on having.  This is especially true for your resource buildings.

Once you start training troops you will find that it is hard to keep up your food due to the upkeep requirements. Since there is no penalty for not having food for your troops, many people run a 0 food income city. This means your upkeep will be more than your production and your food counter will normally be a flashing red 0.  

While running a 0 food income city you will just use food as you needed it and give away or store in alliance bank any left over food you have.  There is no reason to let your troops eat the left over food as that is just wasteful :).  

I have listed several ways to get food to use when you needed it below.

• Open items - open a resource item box but only open what you need to use and no more so you don’t waste it. 
• Gather resources- When appropriate (generally not appropriate during a KvK Kill Event) send your troops to gather resources. Just never leave them gathering without watching as there are people out there that will hit you just to hit. 
• Build farm accounts - see Hyper Farms post (coming soon)
• Ask for help - Some members have excess resources and can offer them up for trades/give away if you are strapped and need the help ask in Alliance Chat and someone may be able to help.

City Setup

To set your city up with this type of city you will want to have your city set up with only 1 Farm.  You will need to keep it at the same level as your Stronghold (for building upgrade purposes) and then you will want to pick one resource to focus on.  I recommend asking in Alliance Chat to see what others have so that the Alliance can have people focusing on different resources. You then will fill two other spots with one each of the other resource (keeping them at same level as Stronghold as well) and then all the others (22 spots) with the resource you are focusing on. 

Tip:

Also be sure to take this time to build 10 of each resource building, just to level one, so that you can get the quests for them. After you build 10 of one just destroy all but one and move on with your actual city building.
